This is the wife's favorite casino in Ruidoso. It's smaller than most but has the horse track there as well as a bar and restaurants. The games are hot and cold, a lot of cold, but I guess that's normal. Pleasant place to spend a few hours if you enjoy this type of atmosphere.
This isn't a family friendly place for tourists. From the moment we walked in, the older people at the front just stared at us when we walked up and said hi. We asked for a program and they just grunted at us. When I went to the ticket/cashier's area I asked if any cashiers were open and the lady behind the counter just said "no." and walked away from me mumbling. We just left. Unless you're their typical clientel or a local I wouldn't bother.
Tiny, dirty, and so smoky you risk developing emphysema just walking through the doors! Go to the Inn of the Mountain Gods instead.
Saturday night is the $14.95 Ribeye special; includes baked potato, Texas toast, steamed broccoli and carrots. Our server Gwen provided great service. This is our second visit and I definitely consider this one of the finest Ribeye steaks I've tried in my journeys.
I came here for the horse racing . . . Which was great. I got an experienced observer to give me a quick tutorial on interpreting the racing guide. That made the bets much more interesting!!
